How to recount the European history of the royal residences

This scientific meeting aims to question the concept of “royal residence” at European level. How do European residences tell the story of Europe? How can we recount the European history of royal residences today? What previous, present and future research exists on this topic? How did these places of power, monarchs’ residences, become cultural sites open to the public and why, today, do they embody the history of Europe?
